Today (10 March 2025) there was a dramatic case of "Plai Sun" or Chao Sun, a male wild elephant approximately 5 years old who foraged outside the Eastern Forest Zone in Wang Chan District, Rayong Province. After using a drone to survey the area, they found the wild elephant stuck on an island in the middle of the Prasae Reservoir in a pitiful, emaciated condition on the island in the middle of the water. The wild elephant used its trunk to wave at the drone that flew past, as if asking for food.
